Mango Green Tea Detox Smoothie

Green Tea + Mango Detox Smoothie | Well and Full | #vegan #detox #smoothie

Hey everyone! How’s it going? :) Before we get to the #linklove, I wanted to mention some bloggy things – I think I’m changing the name of my Smoothie Saturday series to The Weekend Smoothie Update. (Which is a little more inclusive, don’t you think?) Today’s smoothie is one that I have dubbed a “detox” smoothie because it is made with green tea, an amazing agent of cleansing and renewal. Not only does green tea contain antioxidants, but I love that it’s hydrating, which aids in overall body function. But please remember that I’m not a doctor, and you should consult one if you’re starting a detox or cleansing regimen! :)

So here’s what caught my eye on the webs this week:

1 // I may be a grown-up, but this vegan children’s cookbook – The Help Yourself Cookbook for Kids – might be too adorable to pass up on. I flipped through the preview on Amazon and was blown away by the beautiful yet simple recipes that are tailor made for children. But what’s even more impressive is that the author, Ruby Roth, has made such an important message accessible to children. In the cookbook, she helps children understand why it’s wrong to hurt animals, and promotes the health benefits of eating plants. I would highly recommend this cookbook to any vegan or vegetarian with children, or anyone who just would love a beautifully designed cookbook!

2 // I love how Gena of The Full Helping can take the humblest of ingredients – like pinto beans and collard greens – and turn them into something beautiful.

3 // On how social media is killing yoga. I see both sides to this issue. Seeing amazing yogis doing insane inversions and reality-bending splits gives us something to aspire to, right? But it kind of takes away from the message that yoga is for ANYBODY. Ultimately, I think it comes down to this: “Yoga is not about an image on a screen. You are a yogi. You are beloved. You are the universe. Donʼt let your minds be tainted by media, by images, by words. You are light. You are love. You are yoga.”

4 // This creamy tahini + lemon asparagus soup is everything I love about spring food.

5 // I’ve already pre-ordered this cookbook and I can’t wait for it come out!!

6 // I am ALL about these asparagus and brown rice sushi rolls by Jodi of Happy Hearted Kitchen!!

7 // Matcha + coconut ice cream. Yum!

8 // Recipe throwback: this kale + apple salad with creamy coconut yogurt dressing has been making its rounds on Pinterest this week. It’s so funny, you never know which recipes will be popular – that salad was actually inspired by an impromptu meal I threw together a while back. But it certainly deserves its popularity – it’s healthy, delicious, and so easy to make!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!!

Thanks for sharing my collards, Sarah! And I really appreciated the yoga article. I so agree that the culture of Instagram yoga porn can really contribute to a lack of perspective about what yoga is, creating an unnecessary culture of exclusivity. If you are breathing, and if you are working to quiet the mind, you are doing yoga.

    Happy Sunday!

You can probably replace the kale with spinach in this recipe! :)

Hi Olivia! No worries :) I would say you could throw in 1-2 tablespoons of any of those seeds. Just be aware that if you don’t have a high speed blender like a Vitamix or Blendtec, your smoothie may come out a little grainy! Best of luck :)

TY Sarah! I actually made it today for my husband and I, and it was amazing. My husband texted me that it was like
“ A vacation in a bottle”! 🌴🌞🌊 I actually do have a ninja and it worked well. We are definitely keeping this one in our files:) by any chance, is there a small juicer that you would recommend out there? I don’t want something really bulky just something that’ll do the job for certain things like carrots etc. Thanks !

Hey Olivia, thanks so much for writing! I’m so glad to hear you liked the smoothie :) I have this Breville juicer (note – it’s an amazon affiliate link), and it’s worked out pretty well for me! It’s not the most high powered juicer, but for its price it does a good job. But to be honest, I haven’t tried a lot of juicers, so my experience is rather limited. However, I did try a Jack Lalanne juicer once and it was awful, so I definitely do not recommend that brand lol. Something low-budget you could do, is blend up your carrots with a bit of water, then strain out the solids using a cheesecloth (which is super cheap). It’s a little more cumbersome, but for pennies on the dollar! But on the whole, I recommend smoothies over juice because they’re more filling and have fiber (which helps keep blood sugar levels down). But freshly made fruit and vegetable juices are never a bad thing ;) Hope this helps!!
