// What kind of recipes can I find here?

All of my recipes are either vegan or vegetarian, which is a reflection of how I eat. I work with whole and natural foods with the goal of creating recipes that are healthful, but above all else delicious!

// Are you vegan?

No! I was vegan for almost two years, but it wasn’t the best option for my health. Now, I eat a mostly plant-based vegetarian diet. I came out as not being vegan on my blog in 2016, but didn’t transition my blog to include vegan and vegetarian recipes until 2019. 

// What’s your story?

I’m a twenty-something from a small town in Connecticut, living with my fiancĂ© Jon and my rescue pup, Ivy. My hobbies include cooking (no surprise there), reading, yoga, playing piano, painting, figure skating, and rollerblading.

// Why aren’t you vegan?

I was vegan for nearly two years, but eating that way was not the best option for my physical and mental health. I felt tired every day, and I was frequently dealing with nausea and stomachaches. In addition, being vegan was very restrictive and I would often deal with anxiety that there was nothing I could eat unless I cooked at home. 

// Can a vegan diet be done healthfully?

I do think a vegan diet can be healthy for a lot of people, with proper attention to nutrition and supplementation. I know many people who are vegan and feel great. Unfortunately, I was not one of them.

// What kind of camera do you use?

Right now I’m shooting on a Canon Mark 6d ii camera with a 24-70mm L lens. However, for the first three years of my blog I shot on a Canon Rebel xTi with a 50mm lens. You don’t need a fancy or expensive camera to start a blog, all you need is a delicious recipe and some natural light! :) 

// How do you edit your photos?

I edit my photos in Adobe Lightroom. I first started out using VSCO filters, but now I’ve developed my own presets that I use for editing.
