Happy Almost Valentine’s Day everyone! How do you all feel about the holiday? Do you love it / hate it? I’ve always kind of loved Valentine’s Day, even the years I was single, because I love the color pink and love seeing hearts everywhere. Now that I’m in my twenties, it’s admittedly not quite as exciting. But when I was in high school, I remember there was this spread in Teen Vogue that I just loved – these girls who started their own vintage clothing store hosted a Galentine’s Day tea party, and it was just as cute as you’d imagine. Cookies, pink cupcakes, peonies and daisies, whimsically mismatched teacups… basically my aesthetic dream. So what did I do? I hosted my own Galentine’s Day! I invited all my best gal pals over for quiche, cookies, scones, cupcakes, and tea. It was a blast!
These little chocolate truffles would have fit in perfectly with that party I hosted so many years ago. They’re daintily bite-sized, but decadently chocolatey. I tested these truffles on my non-vegan friends, and they all LOVED them. Like, absolutely LOVED them. As in they keep requesting that I make more! ;) And with only four ingredients, they’re ridiculously easy to make. Plus, they’re a treat you can feel good about – 100% raw and vegan, filled with live nutrients and antioxidants to keep your Valentine healthy!
Raw Vegan Fudge Truffles
Ingredients
- Heaping 1/2 Cup Walnuts
- 8 Medjool Dates
- 2 Tbs Raw Agave Syrup
- 1/2 Cup Raw Cacao Powder
Instructions
- Put walnuts and dates into a food processor and process until a mealy dough is formed.
- Then, add in cacao and agave and process until a smooth ball is formed in the food processor.
- Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop out little balls of the dough and use hands to form little balls. If desired, roll balls with a coating of raw cacao powder to finish.
- Enjoy!

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.

February 9, 2016 at 5:05 pmGalentine’s Day? LOVE IT! I’ve partaken in my fair share of ladies v-day parties too. :) We’d usually wear pj’s, order Chinese food and watch romcom. It was ridiculously fun! Love the quote. Sometimes you just need a little Peanuts wisdom. And some raw vegan fudge truffles, of course. ?

February 10, 2016 at 7:54 amHehe. I’m not a fan of Valentines day… but Galentines Day, yes please! I do have a darling boyfriend but I think if I made him one of these for Vday, he’d jokingly try to throw it in my face. At least, that way, I can eat his share :)

June 12, 2017 at 3:00 pmI just made these and honestly what have I been doing for 4 months not knowing about these! These are so delicious! I didn’t have access to walnuts, so I used cashew nuts instead. My non-vegan boyfriend loved them as well. (Also I became vegan like 20 days ago, and i’d just like to thank you for making it really easy to transition cause I can still have delicious desserts, and your other recipes are inspiring!)

August 12, 2018 at 8:05 pmI used chocolate protein powder instead of cocoa powder and pecans since I didnt have walnuts. I had to use every ounce of will power to only eat one. So good I cant wait for tomorrow to come so I can have another:-)

June 29, 2019 at 12:55 pmI Love this recipe! Sooo delicious! I doubled the recipe and used 100% maple syrup. I added a little extra syrup and that made it a little too goofy to form into balls. (Maybe after it cools in the fridge.) I didn’t take a photo, it looks like fudge in a bowl. 😋
Thank you for this super easy and yummy recipe!!! 🌈❤️
