The Ultimate Vegan Bagel Sandwich

The Ultimate Vegan Bagel Sandwich | Well and Full

Hi, everyone. Long time no talk! I’m super nervous to write this post because I’m afraid that my website is going to crash if I touch anything… but more on that in a moment. I’ve been away lately for a variety of reasons, which I’d like to share with you here in the hopes that some may have advice or life wisdom to share!

As some of you may know, I moved to a new town with my friend in early March, which was a huge adjustment. On the same week I was packing up, it came to light that my website had been hacked. Even now I still don’t know how it happened, but there it was… a new user in my Users Dashboard that I had not set up. Someone had logged themselves into the backend of my website. Honestly, seeing that there was like knowing there was a burglar in the house with me. My physical safety felt threatened – that adrenaline-pumping, heart-pounding fear when you know you’re not safe. I know that may sound dramatic, but this blog is not just a website – it’s a friend that’s been there for me through almost three years of my life. So when it was hacked, I was absolutely devastated.

That event, like the domino effect, sent off a series of security check-ups and re-evaluations of my website. I ended up moving over to a better host, set up a firewall, and got an SSL certification. Unfortunately, all of this came with a bunch of site crashes along the way. Every time I went to wellandfull.com and saw that 404 error, my heart just dropped a little further. Which is why I said earlier that I’m afraid to even post this post… while everything seems fixed, I’ve learned now that even the littlest thing can cause your website to fail and that virtually nothing is safe.

Honestly, all of this sh!t makes me not want to blog anymore. Seriously. I know I “shouldn’t let this get me down”, but I feel so helpless. Hackers are going to keep trying to hack no matter what you do. You can put up a million security measures, and there’s still a hundred ways someone can get into your website, that you’ve worked so hard on for so many years. I don’t know if I can handle the stress of this.

But part of me still feels drawn back. I mean, I’m here posting a recipe, right? Sharing food with others is always something that will be so close to my heart. So I don’t know where I’m going to be going from here. As I said on Instagram, I think I’m going to be operating at a much slower pace in the coming weeks. On top of everything that’s been going on with my website, I’ve had some health issues resurface that I thought were gone… so it feels like I’m getting beaten down in every possible way. I just need to take a step back and to move a little slower.

Sending hugs and bagels to you all <3

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • Bagels, as many as you like
  • Your Favorite Vegan Cream Cheese
  • Avocado, sliced
  • Red Onions, sliced
  • Tomatoes, sliced
  • Sprouts, Microgreens, or Greens

Instructions

  • This is less of a recipe and more of DIY kind of thing. Simply toast the bagels (if you like), spread on your favorite vegan cream cheese, and add on whatever veggies you like. I found the combination of red onion, avocado, tomatoes, and microgreens to be delicious, but sautéed onions or mushrooms would be great too!

UGH the internet! Its crazy to think people are spending their time causing trouble for people who are just trying to share <3 on their platform. These bagels sparked a HUGE craving in me. Looking forward to more posts coming up with your fancy new functioning site ;) !

Sending you all the love and hugs sister! It gets so frustrating sometimes thinking about how someone took the time to do all of that shit, but you are talented and lovely, so keep on keeping on! xoxo

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I can imagine the fear. Once my facebook was hacked and the person sent horrifying messages to my contacts – it was heart stopping – so I can only imagine the feeling of that happening on a larger platform. I recently moved as well, and I know what it does to upset a regular posting schedule :) Keep hanging in there – time will help. On a happy note, the bagel sandwich looks great!

That’s terrible, Emily :( I’m lucky that no messages were sent to my readers, but hacks are just bad no matter how they happen.

Aww, Sarah! I am so sorry this is happening to you. That really sucks. People on the internet can be pretty baffling… why would anyone want to hack your beautiful blog? Anyways, sending hugs (and now dreaming of bagels), and the best of luck moving forward with this <3

I’m so sorry to hear about all of your blogging challenges! I totally understand your horror/physical reaction. Although I’ve never been hacked, anytime I try to load my website and it doesn’t work (like when the whole blogger platform went down last Friday), I start to sweat. The danger of putting your heart on your screen! Head up and I hope that the rest of your blogging in the near future is smooth sailing…almost as smooth as the vegan cream cheese on this bagel! ;)

Yes – you really do put your heart on the screen!! It’s terrifying but what are you going to do, just not blog? That’s not an option for me. I hope the rest of my blogging time goes smoother for me… Thanks Casey <3

I’m so sorry to hear you aren’t feeling well, Sarah. I think taking it slower sounds like a good idea for a little while, at least until you start to feel better.

You sure did leave us with a tasty recipe until then, didn’t you? This sandwich looks incredible. I wish I could sink my teeth into the screen and take a bite!

People can be such assholes. I don’t get it, but I do believe in karma. This reminds me of my favorite bagel sandwich from Bruegger’s – it’s sooooooo good – but sandwiches and salads always seem to taste better when they are made by someone else?! Isn’t that strange?? Still, I will try again ;) Hope you are feeling better real soon!! xoxo

I would actually have to agree with that… I always like sandwiches when I get them from a shop! And I’m obsessed with Bruegger’s lol!! ;) Thanks so much for your words of encouragement, Anna :)
