Super Seed Milk

Forget all the other plant milks you've tried! This Super Seed Milk is made with mineral-rich and micronutrient-rich seeds, and tastes delicious! Yields about 4 cups, or 32 oz (approximately 1 liter).

Equipment

  • Nut Milk Bags or Cheesecloth I swear by these nut milk bags from Amazon (affiliate link)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Raw Pumpkin Seeds
  • 1/8 Cup Raw Flax Seeds
  • 1/4 Cup Brazil Nuts
  • 1/3 Cup Raw Sunflower Seeds
  • 1/4 Tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 5 Cups Water

Instructions

  • Add all of your nuts and seeds to a high-speed blender with the water, salt, vanilla extract, and maple syrup. Blend on high for about 2 minutes.
  • Place a strainer over a large bowl and line it with cheesecloth or a nut milk bag. Pour the seed milk into the cheesecloth or nut milk bag, doing it in batches if needed.
  • Squeeze the milk out from the seed solids into the bowl. Repeat in batches until you've gone through all the milk.
  • Compost or discard the solids, and transfer the strained milk to a large mason jar or bottle.
  • Store the seed milk in the refrigerator, where it will keep for about 7-8 days.

Notes

  • Be careful not to buy roasted, salted nuts because then your milk will be VERY salty! (Trust me, I've made that mistake!!)
