Cozy up this fall with these Pumpkin Spice Margaritas! The perfect autumn drink made with real pumpkin, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice.
I love these Pumpkin Spice Margaritas because they’re the perfect drink for pumpkin carving, watching scary Halloween movies, or even for serving at the Thanksgiving table!
I always thought of myself as a gin girlie, but margaritas may be my favorite drink now. My husband has really gotten into home bartending, and most of the drinks we make are margs. I have so much fun experimenting with flavors – see these Strawberry Basil Margaritas or Heirloom Tomato Margaritas for reference!
So of course, I had to extend the margarita trend to pumpkin spice! I don’t have as many recipes here on the blog that would be commensurate to my love of pumpkin spice. But, this Pumpkin Spice Syrup (perfect for latte or pancakes) is a winner for sure! For this Pumpkin Spice Margarita recipe, I use a similar syrup, plus more pumpkin purée to amp up the pumpkin flavor. (Okay, I know saying the word pumpkin three times in a sentence is a lot!! But bear with me here!)
If you love cozy drinks, fall-themed beverages, and pumpkin spice, you will LOVE these margaritas! Enjoy! :)
Pumpkin Spice Margaritas FAQs
What are the Pumpkin Spice Margaritas ingredients?
For these margaritas, you combine homemade pumpkin spice syrup, tequila, orange liqueur, and extra pumpkin purée to create a deliciously festive margarita!
What is the closest flavor to pumpkin spice?
Pumpkin spice usually made with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger. Some blends use cloves as well.
What can I use if I don’t have pumpkin spice?
If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, no worries! You can use a blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and cloves. Or, you can make a combination of the previous ingredients using what you have on hand, even if you don’t have all the ingredients. For example, if you don’t have cinnamon, you can still make a pretty good blend with the rest of the spices!
Are pumpkin spice and allspice the same?
No, allspice is actually its own spice made from a single plant! Allspice is made from the berries of the Pimenta Dioica tree. It’s kind of a confusing name because it makes it sound like it’s made from multiple spices. However, allspice and pumpkin spice are definitely not the same thing!
Do you make Pumpkin Spice Margaritas with Cointreau?
For this recipe, I call for an orange liqueur, such as Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or Triple Sec. I personally prefer the flavor of Cointreau, but you can go for whatever you have!
