This is my take on the viral TikTok cucumber trend by @logagm! In my version, I use a sweet and spicy combination of flavors like hot honey, Calabrian chili oil, and soy sauce.
Today I have another fabulous recipe idea that came from TikTok! I haven’t been able to stop watching @logagm‘s videos – Logan is the creator of this TikTok cucumber trend. In his videos, he makes tons of variations of cucumber salad that all look SO GOOD. And you know you’ve made it on social media when you have news outlets like USA Today covering your videos!
When I see trends like this, I immediately start thinking about how I’d want to make the recipe for myself. Similar to the Dense Bean Salad trend by Violet Witchel, I always use the idea as a template for flavors that *I* like best. Despite being a food blogger, I can be kind of picky. This isn’t taking anything away from the amazing creators out there, but I rarely meet a recipe I don’t want to tweak just a little! ;)
About the TikTok Cucumber Trend Recipe
This is my own version of the cucumber trend based on the things I like to eat, such as hot honey and Calabrian chili oil! Combined with fresh lemon juice, soy sauce, and everything bagel seasoning, this cucumber salad is an explosion of flavor.
To keep my recipe true to Logan’s original, I made the salad using a deli container. However, you can use a mason jar or any vessel with a lid to shake the cucumber slices with the sauce. You can also eat the cucumber straight from the container, or serve it on a plate like I did in a few of these photos! I garnished my salad with a little more chili oil and sesame seeds for extra flavor. I hope you love this recipe as much as I do! And thank you to @logagm for the inspiration!
The TikTok Cucumber Trend FAQs
What is the cucumber trend on TikTok?
The cucumber trend was created by the Logan (@logagm), a TikTok creator with almost 5 million followers. He frequently posts videos where he makes cucumber salads in deli containers. In his recipes, he uses a mandoline to slice up his cucumber, then he adds a variety of seasonings and sauces. He’s done everything from Asian-inspired variations with soy sauce and sesame oil, to Mediterranean versions with herbs and yogurt. Logan always comes up with such creative combinations – I highly recommend giving his account a follow!
What are the TikTok cucumber salad ingredients?
There isn’t just “one” TikTok cucumber salad out there – Logan’s trend is more of a template from which cucumber salads can be built. In my recipe here, I use ingredients like hot honey, Calabrian chili oil, soy sauce, ponzu, lemon, and everything bagel seasoning to create a sweet and spicy snack.
Do you peel cucumbers for salad?
Nope! Cucumber peels are perfectly safe to eat. Just be sure to give your cucumbers a good wash before eating.
Is cucumber salad good for volume eating?
Absolutely! Volume eating is a style of eating for those of us (myself included) who like to eat big batches of food at a time instead of small snacks. A large cucumber only has about 40-50 calories in it, so you can eat lots of it and not worry about the calories. Of course, adding on oils and sauces can rack up the calories. But if you make a lighter sauce (like this one), this TikTok cucumber trend will still be a great volume eating option!
What do I do if I don’t have a mandoline?
Just slice up your cucumber thinly using a knife! It takes a little longer, but the result is the same. However, I do recommend buying a mandoline because it has so many great uses! Here is an option on Amazon similar to the one I have (affiliate link).
Should I use the hand guard on the mandoline?
YES please use the guard! People have already had to go to the hospital because they’ve cut themselves on their mandolines. ALWAYS use the safety equipment your kitchenware comes with!

Notes
- If you don’t have Calabrian chili oil, sub in any other spicy olive oil or garlic-infused olive oil.
- Ponzu sauce is a Japanese citrus-based sauce, that tastes like citrusy soy sauce. It’s sold at most grocery stores. If you can’t get your hands on any, sub in more soy sauce.
- MSG, or monosodium-glutamate, is a type of salt that adds depth of flavor to dishes. If you don’t have any, or don’t want to use it, just omit. DO NOT sub regular salt for MSG.
- Add in as much or as little sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning as you like! Just remember that most everything bagel seasonings have some salt in them, so use with caution in addition to the rest of these salty ingredients.
