Boursin Cheese Pasta

Boursin Cheese Pasta | Well and Full | #TikTok #viral #recipe

This herby, zingy Boursin Cheese Pasta recipe has gone viral on Instagram and TikTok for good reason! It’s the perfect easy dinner recipe.

I love a recipe where you basically just throw a bunch of things in the oven and it becomes dinner. This is one of those recipes! To start off, you bake fresh vegetables tossed in olive oil and garlic along with a block of Boursin cheese. The veggies get slightly browned, and the cheese gets just the right amount of toasted on the edges. You mix everything together, getting a creamy, garlicky sauce. Then, you add in your cooked pasta and a little bit of pasta water to smooth things out. It’s so simple and fast – you’ll have a delicious dinner on your hands in no time!

This recipe is vegetarian, but you can use it as a base for any proteins you’d like. You can also experiment with other flavors of Boursin, such as rosemary & black garlic, shallot & chive, or cracked black pepper. And of course, if you can’t get ahold of Boursin cheese, feta is also delicious instead! Enjoy!

Boursin Cheese Pasta FAQs

What is Boursin cheese?

Boursin cheese is a type of cheese from France that is similar in texture and taste to cream cheese, but flavored with garlic and herbs. It has a spreadable texture and is often eaten with crackers. Here, I cook Boursin cheese in the oven with vegetables to create a cheesy, creamy pasta dish.

Is this Boursin cheese pasta healthy?

Well, it’s a whole pound of pasta and a block of Boursin cheese, so it’s going to be very carb-forward. However, I added in fresh vegetables such as arugula, red onion, and haricots vert (green beans) to lighten things up! Also, unlike most of the TikTok recipes, this version uses only one block of Boursin cheese (as opposed to two). Don’t worry though – all of the flavor is still there! :)

Can you make Boursin cheese pasta with sun-dried tomatoes?

Absolutely! If you’d like to use jarred sun-dried tomatoes, add them in AFTER the vegetables and Boursin are done cooking. You don’t want the sun-dried tomatoes to get even more dried out in the oven!

Can you make Boursin cheese pasta with spinach?

For sure! In this recipe I use arugula, but spinach would also be delicious as well!

Is this the same as the Boursin cheese pasta TikTok recipe?

Whenever I make a recipe inspired by what I’ve seen on social media, I always give credit (such as with the viral cucumber trend or the dense bean salad trend). But unfortunately I have not been able to identify the creator of the Boursin cheese pasta trend. If you know who it is, please leave me a comment here for I can credit them!

Boursin Cheese Pasta

This herby, zingy Boursin Cheese Pasta recipe has gone viral on Instagram and TikTok for good reason! It's the perfect easy dinner recipe.
Course Dinner
Keyword arugula, black pepper, boursin cheese, garlic, green beans, haricots vert, pasta
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Red Onion diced
  • 4 Cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 Pint Green Beans
  • 2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Red Pepper Flakes to taste
  • 1 Block Boursin Cheese 5.2 oz
  • 1 Lb Small Pasta such as orecchiete
  • 1 Large Handful Arugula
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Fresh Herbs such as basil, chives, parsley, and/or oregano
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • Extra Salt, Pepper, and Red Pepper Flakes to taste, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  • To a large casserole dish, add in the diced red onion, minced garlic, and green beans. Drizzle everything with the olive oil, and add on the salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix everything together until all of the vegetables are coated in oil.
  • Make a little nook in the center of the vegetables, and add in the Boursin cheese. Cover the dish with foil, and bake for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, remove the dish from the oven and remove the foil. Do NOT stir the Boursin in yet! Place the uncovered dish back in the oven for 10-15 more minutes, or until vegetables are slightly browned.
  • While the vegetables and Boursin are baking, cook your pasta in SALTED water. Before the pasta is done, reserve about 1/2 – 1 cup of the starchy pasta water and set aside.
  • Cook the pasta until it's al dente. After reserving the pasta water, drain the pasta and set aside.
  • Once the vegetables and Boursin are done roasting, take the dish out of the oven. Stir the vegetables and the Boursin together, adding in about 1/4 cup of pasta water. Then, add in the pasta and stir everything together, adding a few more small increments of pasta water if needed to smoothen the sauce. Add more salt, if desired.
  • Finally, stir in a handful of arugula and about 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs, such as basil, chives, parsley, and/or oregano. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Top on with a little more black pepper and red pepper flakes, if desired.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you don’t like arugula, feel free to sub in spinach if you’d like!
