This Iced Blueberry Latte went viral on TikTok for good reason – it’s sweet, a little tangy, and bursting with blueberry flavor!
Some of you may already know this, but before I got into food blogging I worked in Corporate Finance. Most mornings at my company, my friend (now husband) Jon and I used to grab a mid-morning snack in the cafeteria. Here in New England, Green Mountain Coffee is pretty ubiquitous. It’s based in Maine, but you can find their coffee all over here in Connecticut, including in my former employer’s cafeteria! They had carafes of various flavors from Green Mountain Coffee, including their Wild Mountain Blueberry variety. I’ve always had strong memories associated with various scents and flavors, and enjoying a cup of blueberry-flavored coffee with my BFF Jon was one of the few highlights of working in corporate finance.
Blueberry + coffee might sound like a weird flavor combination, but it’s actually incredibly delicious. I would take it over the classic pumpkin spice latte in a heartbeat! While I do love pumpkin spice, sometimes the strong flavors of the spice blend can compete with the coffee. However, blueberry flavor totally complements coffee without overpowering it.
Iced Blueberry Latte FAQs
What is the blueberry latte TikTok original video?
It can sometimes be really hard to find the origin of a trend of social media, but I believe this one started with The Nitro Bar, a coffee shop in Rhode Island that’s gone viral several times. The pairing of blueberry + coffee has been around a long time, but The Nitro Bar popularized it this past summer. Many creators who have taken part in this trend credit them in their videos!
Is this latte inspired by The Nitro Bar blueberry iced latte?
According to The Nitro Bar’s website, the blueberry latte is made with blueberry simple syrup, coffee, and a milk of your choice. So this recipe is absolutely inspired by it! Though I’ve never been to The Nitro Bar, I bet their latte is absolutely amazing.
Does the flavor in this latte come from blueberry syrup?
Yes! However, you can also use a blueberry-flavored coffee to amp up the blueberry flavor. I LOVE this blueberry cobbler coffee from New England coffee – you can get a three pack here from Amazon (affiliate link).
Is blueberry iced latte good?
YES! It’s popular for a very good reason. Blueberry has a unique type of fruitiness that harmonizes with the taste of coffee. Raw blueberries can sometimes be a little sour, but when they’re cooked with sugar to make simple syrup, you get a perfect sweet shot of blueberry!
What does blueberry coffee taste like?
The blueberry flavor in this recipe is more on the blueberry muffin side of the spectrum than the raw blueberry side, especially if you use the optional vanilla and cinnamon. There’s a little bit of the blueberry tang in the syrup, but it’s mostly just a pleasant, sweet blueberry flavor.
Is an iced latte just coffee with milk?
Kind of – lattes are usually made with espresso, and some form of milk or cream. You can also add get sugar or syrup to your latte, if you like something sweeter. Here, I use espresso, plant-based milk, and blueberry simple syrup to create a unique, seasonal latte.

- Let the syrup cool slightly before the next step.
- Carefully pour the syrup over a mesh sieve into a storage vessel like a mason jar.
- To assemble your latte, fill a glass with ice to the brim. Add in the blueberry syrup, then fill until the glass is 3/4 full with a milk of your choice. Lastly, add in your espresso or black coffee.
- Enjoy!
Notes
- If you don’t have an espresso machine or don’t want to use espresso, feel free to sub in about 1/2-1 cup strongly brewed black coffee!
- The ratios I gave are my favorites for a latte, but feel free to assemble your coffee however you like it!
